Platinum Jubilee Fashion: the bold and the beautiful
The Platinum Jubilee gave us a fantastic four days of right royal celebration. From Trooping the Colour to the Thanksgiving service, and the Party on the Mall and the Pageant on the final day, many across the UK and the Commonwealth showed their gratitude for our longest serving monarch.
And during the celebrations, some of the best and brightest fashion was on display. Here’s a look at some of our favourite looks from across the four days.
THE QUEEN
The star of the show. Her final balcony appearance to mark the end of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations saw the Queen wear a right green double wool crepe dress and coat by Stewart Parvin, with a matching hat by Rachel Trevor-Morgan. Many are saying that the green hue was in tribute to the late Duke of Edinburgh.
DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE
Summer brights done right by the Duchess of Cambridge! For the National Service of Thanksgiving she wore a bespoke dress by Emilia Wickstead, the 908 Hat by Philip Treaty and accessorised with a braided clutch purse and gloves.
COUNTESS OF WESSEX
The Countess of Wessex doesn’t disappoint with her fashion choices, and although not the boldest of colours, it’s one that we had to mention. Sophie turned to Suzannah London for her rose gold dress, and accessorised with a bespoke Jane Taylor cocktail hat, a Chenille clutch from Sophie Habsburg and sand leather pumps from LK Bennett. The similar outfit and colour scheme of her daughter Lady Louise was a nice ‘team touch'!’
ZARA TINDELL
Zara = our new style influencer. Her fashion choices lately have been bang on and we were obsessed with the hot pink hue she chose for the National Thanksgiving Service. The bespoke Laura Green coat dress worked well with some lilac accessories - notably the Lottie Bag from Aspinal and a Bow Percher from Juliette Millinery.
PRINCESSES BEATRICE AND EUGENIE
Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie had several good Jubilee fashion moments, and we particularly liked their two very bold choices in the photo below.
For Beatrice, she opted for the Ahana Chambre Crepe Midi Dress from Beulah London, accessorising with a silk bow mercer from Juliette Millinery and a clutch from Sophia Webster. Her shoes were by Ralph and Russo. For Eugenie, she made a statement in an orange Amila Dress by Emilia Wickstead, with black slingback from the same brand and a pillow hat by Emily London Headwear.
PRITI PATEL
Politician wise, Priti knocked it out of the park. Her neon pink belted coat dress and matching pillbox hat were stunning and the perfect choice for the Service of Thanksgiving. If anyone has any ID of the designer then please get in touch!
THERESA MAY
May made one appearance over the 4 days of celebrations, wearing a Daniel Blake green safari jacket and matching skirt to the Service of Thanksgiving. She accessorised with a pair of teal Russell and Bromley bug encrusted jewelled kitten heels.
